I know this song doesn’t really go too well with today’s whole Valentine Day theme, but I couldn’t help but pen this one down.  Below are the lyrics to it.  It is called Was It Me and eventually will have that Marcus Houston “Circle” vibe to it once I layout the vocals (I’ll let you get the feel of it early from the scratch version I’ll produce later on today or tomorrow. I still have some edits to make on it too).  Anyways, let me know what you think about the lyrical content:

Was It Me

Verse 1

These thoughts are forever running in my head

you and him sleeping in my bed

I tried to fight it

but to me there was no end

how could you say that you love me

when in fact you’re sexin’ him

Bsec

My mind keeps telling me, Brandon it’s all right

that the lies and deceptions, were hers and not mine own

but yet and still my heart is asking, why oh why oh why

Chorus

Was it me was it me, that led you to go astray

was it me was it me, that let another in

was it the way that he looks

or that his swaggers better than mine

was it me was it me, that led to this broken heart

Verse 2

And my body’s yearning wishing you were here

and my mind is learning that you didn’t care

how could you defile me in my God damn house

how could the fact that you touched him make me so upset

I’m trying hard now to make it all make sense

but the truth of it all was she was just a trick

Change

You didn’t even care, not for a second

You didn’t even try, no more no more

hurt and neglect oh oh oh oh oh

Bsec

My mind keeps telling me, Brandon it’s all right

that the lies and deceptions, were hers and not mine own

but yet and still my heart is asking, why oh why oh why

Chorus 2x

Was it me was it me, that led you to go astray

was it me was it me, that let another in

was it the way that he looks

or that his swaggers better than mine

was it me was it me, that led to this broken heart

Outro

No more no more no more

no I don’t want you back

all of the lies you told

you can have them back

I’m flying solo

no more dead weight laying on my back

Peace & Luv,

B. Marcel
